Pharmacy Benefit Manager change a success
Thank you for your help making HealthPartners PBM change a success! On May 1st, HealthPartners PBM changed to MedImpact with virtually no disruption in service for members.
On the weekend of May 3rd, HealthPartners Member Services stayed open to ensure that members would have help available if needed. During this time, HealthPartners received just under 50 calls from the nearly 606,000 members with HealthPartners pharmacy benefits nationwide. In the first week of May, HealthPartners successfully processed over 157,000 pharmacy claims.
The impact to members because of this change has been kept to an absolute minimum. At this point, the majority of assistance needed was helping pharmacies adjust to the change. Plus, HealthPartners members now have access to an improved online pharmacy locator, featuring a detailed map for each pharmacy, and an enhanced copay calculator.
We look forward to continued delivery of easy-to-use, cost effective solutions to your employees, and even greater value to you as a healthcare purchaser.

Better dental benefits; happier members
We are pleased to announce that HealthPartners dental plans are rolling out some exciting benefit enhancements, including:
- Dental Benefits for Little Partners. We recognize that a lifetime of good oral health starts with our youngest members. That’s why we’re offering full coverage for services included in employers’ dental plans to kids 12 and under.
- Dental Implants. We realize that in some instances dental implants are the best option for our members, so we’re pleased to announce that we have expanded our implant benefit beyond our current coverage of implant prosthetics.
- Diabetes and Maternity Care. More and more research points to a connection between good oral and overall health, especially for those who are diabetic or pregnant. So our dental plans now offer enhanced coverage above and beyond standard plan benefits.
The diabetes and maternity care benefit goes into effect July 1, 2008, for all HealthPartners Dental members enrolled in their employer’s plan. Enhanced dental benefits for little partners and dental implants go into effect with your group’s renewal.
Watch for more details in upcoming Beyond Benefits or contact your broker or your HealthPartners sales executive for additional information.
